Monday was pretty quiet Breakfast is an omelette, with some cheddar cheese and turkey deli meat I had a protein shake with two scoops of protein and two pieces of beef jerky as a snack. Dinner was about a pound of wings, smoked and then crisped up in the toaster oven. With two baby belly peppers and a carrot in some sour cream ranch dip. The wings were the highlight, smoked with @bearmountainbbq gourmet blend at 180, they got nice and smokey and then the crisp I would have normally done in the smoker as well, but it was quick to do such a small batch of wings in the toaster oven and faster to bring that up to temp. A relaxing Sunday at the cabin Breakfast was a breakfast sandwich, one slice of sourdough, 2 eggs, a slice of cheese, a piece of bacon and some salsa. Lunch was a turkey sandwich, on a slice of bread, mayo, mustard and about 4oz of turkey. I also had a protein shake with lunch. Dinner was a burger with cheese, a slice of bacon, lettuce and mustard on a seeded bun. I smoked the burger using @bearmountainbbq gourmet blend on my original trager and just love the smoke that grill puts out. I also had a pineapple slice wrapped in bacon with some tropical habanero glaze, a few carrots and bell peppers in a sour cream ranch dip and some Wylde chips with my burger. For dessert I had a dark chocolate square. Overall it was a low key day with the only real activity being filming some video of the pineapple cook and doing some yard work here at the cabin. Body battery was at 100 when I woke up this am, a first this week and a good sign to start the week strong.

No workout yesterday but did some errands. Goal was some recovery and training readiness moved from 1 to 8 overnight. I noticed the sleep score in the summary view is actually the previous nights, so not Saturday night but Friday night in this one. Well just go with that even though it’s a little confusing. I had the breakfast burrito at lunch yesterday, it was huge and more than I could handle or needed. @sombreromexican jumbo breakfast burrito with sausa is no joke. The double meat is the real deal. For dinner I made some fish tacos on low carb tortillas. Tilapia, cheddar cheese, slaw mix and then a drizzle of lime juice and mayo mixed together and a bit of chipotle salsa. To wrap up the day I had a slice of my fresh made sourdough. The training states also moved from overreaching to productive.

Friday dinner out at @koonthaikitchen I had the Tom yum crispy pork noodles, may be my new favorite there as we as the wings for dinner. Lunch was a sirloin steak and eggs. Late afternoon snack some homemade beef jerky. The @nxptfit workout was free flow and I started with the barbell and then moved to cardio. Between the mile at the gym and 4 miles walking there and back i did hit the 2k+ step goal @garmin has me at right now… Which isn’t easy to do. Bost battery still at one today, which hopefully bounces back with only some light errands.

Recap for yesterday 1/16/2025 Started the day with a great workout. My Garmin is telling me I am overreaching still, with a training readiness score of 1 every day since Monday. I’ll have the weekend for recovery and likely won’t workout again till Tuesday. Lunch was an omelette, inside is leftover chicken from the day before and some Gouda cheese. On top some herdes salsa. Afternoon snack was a jalapeno beef stick. For dinner I went out and had a Philadelphia roll and garlic edamame (shared) and then went nextdoor to the taco shop and split an order of chicken rolled tacos with my wife. I wrapped up the day with a double scoop protein shake. I am pretty consistent with sleep. Aiming for the 10pm-6am timeframe and got an 84 sleep score. Now it’s time to head to the gym again on this Friday morning! Let me know if you want me keep posting these or if I should just go back to the occasional food post.

What I did in a day, food and fitness Yesterday was cottage cheese, beef jerky, a @questnutrition peanut butter cup and pad Thai with extra chicken. I got more questions about the PB than expected, so I’ll say it here. These quest cups are better than Reese’s flavor and texture, the macros are a given… I have these in my Amazon a subscribe and save. The pad Thai is from Costco, and I just added some chicken breast to get to a daily volume of higher protein. Water intake was solid, hit electrolytes a second time on the evening and had one Ghost energy drink. Over 10k steps, solid morning workout. My Garmin says I am overreaching but I have goals! #whatieatinaday

Make everyday a bit better. Super high protein lunch. Eggs. Beef sticks and a protein shake. Diner was a baked chicken breast with red sauce, mozzarella and parmesan, alongside brussel sprouts. I also had a @questnutrition bar as a snack, and some @kingsburychocolates dark chocolate after dinner. Stayed super hydrated, probably over 200oz of water, a ghost energy drink and a coffee. I have been doing 16/8 fasting and still getting my walking to the gym and workouts in. I admit this photo of me is actually this am, not yesterday, yesterday was a video to the BBQ and fitness accountability group, so didn’t snag a photo. Sourdough pizza Sourdough pizza crust, a bit of olive oil and @spiceology pizza seasoning for the first layer, followed by smoked garlic, marinara, and parmesan cheese around the crust. For toppings I added pepperoni, salami, and diced up beef stick. It par baked for 5 minutes before adding the fresh mozzarella and more parmesan on top. This was done at 450 in the oven on convection bake. No fancy pizza oven here. Crispy crust, full of flavor from the sourdough and the seasoning, toppings and fresh mozzarella all shined through. The recipe and flour used were from @kingarthurbaking and have worked really well now a few times. My only addition to their process would be to add a bit of stretching after the dough is mixed, divide and shape to help with dough strength and then let rise.

Quick and easy chicken tacos Low carb tortilla loaded up with some chicken, guacamole, lettuce, cheese and sour cream. The chicken is Costco rotisserie chicken, shredded and warmed in chicken bone broth, some taco seasoning and @herdezbrand chipotle salsa. Guacamole is avocado, @spiceology guac and roll, fresh lime juice and some of the same salsa. For lunch today, a large salad with mixed greens, shaved Gouda cheese and more of the rotisserie chicken. Didn’t photo that one. The goal is to get the diet dialed in to start the year. The BBQ accountability group @scaleandtailor started is amazing and inspiring me to lock in!
