Steak and eggs or a Toast trio or both? Lunch was @bearmountainbbq pecan smoked tri tip sliced thin and reheated in a pan. 3 eggs with set whites and runny yolks, simply salted with @redmondrealsalt kosher salt. Dinner is 3 slices of @simplekneads_gf sourdough bread double toasted. Two slices are topped with an avocado egg salad and one is topped with a pecan smoked salmon dip. The egg salad was garnished with homemade crispy bacon and the salmon dip garnished with dill. Dessert is the brand new @questnutrition overloaded chocolate explosion bar. Tri top salad and smoked Spinach Parmesan topped chicken breast For lunch I made an amazing salad. I started with a @yourtaylorfarms salad kit from Costco, buffalo ranch (I skipped using the tortilla crisps). I topped the salad with thin sliced smoked tri tip. The tri tip was smoked low and slow with @bearmountainbbq pecan wood and seasoned with @kosmosq Texas beef and cow cover rubs. When the tri tip hit 135 I pulled it and let it rest 10 minutes before refrigerating it overnight and then slicing thin with a meat slicer. Dinner was a chicken breast seasoned with @boarsnightout white rub and also smoked using pecan to 150 internal. It was the topped with spinach Parmesan dip and baked at 400 with a quick final broil to finish it off. Pizza and Musubi I made and then ate the whole sourdough discard pizza for dinner. This is the @kingarthurbaking sourdough discard dough recipe. Topped with @raoshomemade marinara and pepperoni with fresh mozzarella and @spiceology pizza seasoning and Parmesan around the edge crust. Lunch was my first attempt at musubi using a gochujang spam. The muffin is a sourdough discard zucchini muffin my wife made following the @thepantrymama recipe. I enjoyed an afternoon @alesmithbrewing speedway stout to celebrate SDSU making it into the tournament. Finally, an @legendaryfoods strawberry pastry for some extra protein.

Avocado toast and eggs for breakfast and a sushi date night for dinner I started the weekend with fresh avocado over sourdough toast with feta cheese and @spiceology over easy. Served with 3 strips of crispy bacon and 3 eggs seasoned with the Over Easy as well. I spent the day shopping for some new clothes and had the protein bar for a mid day snack. Dinner was at @tappi_sushi_2 and I enjoyed a Chicken Teriyaki bowl to start and a kamikaze roll. My wife ordered the crispy potato roll, and I did get to steal some! What a super unique and cool roll! The roll is wrapped in crispy potato. I capped off the night with a pint of halo top as a sweet treat. The damn @garmin has me in recovery again, I guess 8k steps and no workout just isn’t enough. I have to learn that recovery days and recovery status in the Garmin are supposed to happen, but it sure would be nice to see productive sometime soon! It’s been a month of maintenance even with daily steps over 10k and monday-friday workouts.

Breakfast sandwich, omelette, extra protein snacks and rolled tacos I started my day with a quick @redsfoods breakfast sandwich. Lunch was a 4 egg omelette with a sliced chicken breast and @cabotcreamery cheddar cheese. Topped with a bit of sour cream and hot sauce. Afternoon snacks were @builtbar brownie batter puff and @questnutrition peanut butter cups. Dinner was 5 rolled tacos with guac from. @cotijastierrasanta which is their Thursday daily special for $6 and hard to beat! I walked to the gym well before sunrise in the pouring rain, so that was an adventure. The time change made the walk to dark for my comfort with a 7am start so let’s hope the sun starts to rise a bit earlier again soon. Till then 8am classes have long been my default and still preferred.

French toast, protein and poke bowls I had a few slices of @simplekneads_gf cinnamon raisin bread left and knew that I needed to test it out as French toast. I whisked together egg, half and half, @spiceology cinnamon and vanilla extract. Let the bread soak a bit and theNln cooked it on a griddle over medium heat. I had a bit of mix left so I spooned that over the top of each slice as they cooked for a little extra love. Afternoon snacks were @dukesmeats sausages and a @questnutrition bar. I totally failed with dinner and didn’t get a photo. I picked up a large poke bowl from poke 1 1/2 with half rice and half salad as the base, tuna, salmon and spicy tuna as the fish and ponzu as the sauce with most of the toppings. Workout and steps were a success and that sleep score will always be fun to achieve. If you read all this let me know! Do you like the daily update? Ranch chicken soup, leftovers and a protein bar My wife made an amazing soup for dinner. The base was chicken bone broth, cream of chicken soup, sour cream and @spiceology really ranch seasoning. For the veggies it was onions, potatoes and carrots. With some chicken breast and a chipotle hot sauce drizzle. While the soup was cooking I did a little fridge clean out and finished off the leftover pancakes from the weekend as a snack Lunch was a half a burger and some tots leftover from my father in law when we went to the pub the other night. I added in two protein bars for good measure, a @builtbar and a @questnutrition bar.

Solid recovery in prep for the week I missed my Monday workout but have to tell myself that ok. I focused on a very protein heavy breakfast with 4 eggs, @amylufoods chicken meatballs and a slice of sourdough toast. Snack for the day was a serving of @crisp.power protein pretzels. Dinner was a taco salad with Chile verde from my local Mexican restaurant. Again the step count was lower but I did move lumber around and found that to be a good recovery day. Holding at ~170lbs and 20% body fat. While I would love to see more improvement but holding across a week where I was a bit off schedule feels good. #recovery #stayonplan #proteinfocused

Weekend breakfast for the win Started the day strong with some scrambled eggs, @amylufoods breakfast sausage and fries potatoes and onions. I seasoned the potatoes and eggs with a bit of @spiceology really ranch and salt. Lunch was a @questnutrition bar, some leftover meatballs and a few slices of cheese. Dinner was at @thepubatlakecuyamaca and I ordered the buffalo chicken fries. Again steps were a bit on the low end but a few hours taking apart a deck felt like exercise.
