Sunday recovery started strong with a perfect 100 sleep score. I started my food for the day with some bacon, berries and @thepantrymama sourdough discard pancakes. For lunch I went with tri tip, smoked at 180 on the @yodersmokers with @bearmountainbbq gourmet blend for about 1.5 hours, finishing at an internal temp of 130 before bringing it inside for a quick sear on each side. For seasoning I used @meatmitchbbq steer cover. Dinner was turkey lettuce wraps. My wife made dinner and absolutely nailed it on this one. The ground turkey was really well flavored. Saturday recovery For food yesterday it was a adobada burrito from @lolitastacoshop and a few chips. I also had a two scoop protein shake and two cups of coffee with half and half. Not a ton of movement, just a few errands. One of the errands yesterday was going to the butcher and so I picked up bones for the dogs as a treat. Both ember and jet love these. Watched the Aztec game and was happy they didn’t make me wait to overtime and a last second shot this time to win. Sleep score was low, a bit unexpected. Usually to see a score that low means I was drinking and well. I wasn’t! Training readiness was a 1 at the beginning of Saturday, as I post it is 24, so Sunday will be for recovery as well and I’ll post that tomorrow!

Friday lunch was a 3 egg omelette, with some cheddar cheese and leftover pulled BBQ chicken. Stopped with some hot sauce. I had a @questnutrition bar in the late afternoon as well as a piece of Jerky. For dinner we went out to @aladdin_mediterranean and had the hummus with chicken shawarma as well as the Greek salad with Gyro. Their hummus is always a winner, with fresh pita… The best. The Greek salad with gyro is my staple order there. I have never deviated, maybe I need to try something else…. The workout at @nxptfit was a good one. Free flow Friday. I did not get very far. But did do a pyramid build 1/2/3/4/5/6/5/4/3/2/1 reps of burpees and deadlifts with a 100m run every 4 minutes. The deadlifts were at 205lbs. Then I did 19 cal bike, 20 TRX rows, 29 cal ski erg and 20 TRX push ups. Then 19 bike and row again. I started into the last set of calories on the rower and ran out of time.

Thursday started with the most white colored meal I may have had in a while… Cottage cheese and hardboiled eggs. I had two snacks yesterday afternoon. One @legendaryfoods strawberry protein pasty and one bag of @questnutrition cheese crackers. For dinner I had two pulled chicken sandwiches with a pickle flavored slaw and a side of @wildechips buffalo chips. I am starting to see a little progress in my goal to lean out a bit, but also feeling it in my legs. This week at @nxptfit was a leg crusher in all the best ways.

Keeping it going! Turkey sandwich for lunch, followed by a @questnutrition bar, a @thinkjerky jalapeno beef stick and about a serving(a little under) of protein pretzels. I couldn’t help myself from a piece of beef jerky while making dinner. That @bearmountainbbq smoke only seems to have gotten stronger as the jerky has ‘aged’ a week or som For dinner it was a Cobb salad. A base of mixed greens and romaine tossed in @litehousefoods ranch and then loaded with some tomato, cucumber, hardboiled egg and turkey deli meat. I also added a two scoop protein shake to keep that protein level high enough to not sacrifice muscle mass as I try and lean out just a bit. Yesterday was a busy day at the office so meals looked a little more snack-like except for dinner. Dinner was a sheet pan meal, with potato, onion, Brussels and @amylufoods sausage. 375 in a convection oven tossing occasionally to get everything crispy where possible. Lunch was cottage cheese and jerky. Snacks were a @questnutrition bar, quest PB cups, and a think jalapeno beef stick. Workout was earlier than normal to get a head start on the day, so the walk to the gym was actually in the dark, but this pixel really captures the light. Hydration is staying strong! Bacon wrapped spicy pineapple When @pepperexchange launched the tropical habanero sauce, I knew I needed to glaze up some bacon. Given the tropical vibes, wrapping pineapple in bacon only felt natural. I cut the pineapple into skewers, coated it with a BBQ run. Wrapped it bacon and smoked them at around 250. Giving them a brush of the tropical habanero sauce every 20-30 minutes. After about 1.5 I bumped up the temp a bit to bring that bacon to a crisp. I kept a slice of bacon reserved and glazed it as well to garnish my pineapple. These were a hit, highly recommend! Monday was pretty quiet Breakfast is an omelette, with some cheddar cheese and turkey deli meat I had a protein shake with two scoops of protein and two pieces of beef jerky as a snack. Dinner was about a pound of wings, smoked and then crisped up in the toaster oven. With two baby belly peppers and a carrot in some sour cream ranch dip. The wings were the highlight, smoked with @bearmountainbbq gourmet blend at 180, they got nice and smokey and then the crisp I would have normally done in the smoker as well, but it was quick to do such a small batch of wings in the toaster oven and faster to bring that up to temp. A relaxing Sunday at the cabin Breakfast was a breakfast sandwich, one slice of sourdough, 2 eggs, a slice of cheese, a piece of bacon and some salsa. Lunch was a turkey sandwich, on a slice of bread, mayo, mustard and about 4oz of turkey. I also had a protein shake with lunch. Dinner was a burger with cheese, a slice of bacon, lettuce and mustard on a seeded bun. I smoked the burger using @bearmountainbbq gourmet blend on my original trager and just love the smoke that grill puts out. I also had a pineapple slice wrapped in bacon with some tropical habanero glaze, a few carrots and bell peppers in a sour cream ranch dip and some Wylde chips with my burger. For dessert I had a dark chocolate square. Overall it was a low key day with the only real activity being filming some video of the pineapple cook and doing some yard work here at the cabin. Body battery was at 100 when I woke up this am, a first this week and a good sign to start the week strong.

No workout yesterday but did some errands. Goal was some recovery and training readiness moved from 1 to 8 overnight. I noticed the sleep score in the summary view is actually the previous nights, so not Saturday night but Friday night in this one. Well just go with that even though it’s a little confusing. I had the breakfast burrito at lunch yesterday, it was huge and more than I could handle or needed. @sombreromexican jumbo breakfast burrito with sausa is no joke. The double meat is the real deal. For dinner I made some fish tacos on low carb tortillas. Tilapia, cheddar cheese, slaw mix and then a drizzle of lime juice and mayo mixed together and a bit of chipotle salsa. To wrap up the day I had a slice of my fresh made sourdough. The training states also moved from overreaching to productive.
