Saturday Race Day and Volunteering! I started the day early volunteering at the @nxptfit Games. Before running to the car to remove some layers and drop off everything but the car key. I chugged down some electrolytes and then ran the course. It was hot, 75+ degrees and full sun. I was happy with my grind, finished the race, did every station at full spec and ran each lap. The burpee broad jumps were the biggest challenge, with the sandbag bear crawl being the other tough one. Having judged where I could see the bear crawl, I watched people struggle and crawl (vs bear crawl) that zone quite a bit. I was happy with my commitment that if I was moving it was a bear crawl. My most proud zone was farmers carry, only drop was at the turn. I came home and had a @questnutrition protein bar and some calabrese as well as lots of water and some more electrolytes. Then I went and picked up a Carne Asada burrito and some chips and salsa. I finished the burrito and put a good effort into the chips but didn’t finish those. For dessert and my post race treat I had my last @kingsburychocolates chocolate bar. I don’t love coming in towards the trail end of times in my age group for the race. Not last, but lower half.
